What you listen to...
Anyone who knows me know that music has any important role in my life. So that is why from time to time I like to let people know what I'm listen to
The Dead Weather - "Horehound"- Yeah, Yeah, its another band that has Jack White as a member. But unlike The White Stripes (indie rock) or The Racontours (Americana), The Dead Weather are some form of techno-metal hybrid. Besides White, the band is made up of members of Queens of the Stone Age, The Greenhornes, and The Kills. Elements from all four member previous efforts are here to make something totally recognizable, but totally new at the same time. What I have enjoyed most is Mossharts vocal foil to White. At times they almost have the same voice. Check out the video below the see an example of what I'm talking about.
Scott H Biram - Something Wrong/Lost Forever - If you are a fan of SHB last two albums you will find alot more of the same in this new album. While leaning more of the country side of his blues/country/punk rock mix on this album, there is alot here for fans to enjoy. And if you are not a fan of SHB, FUCK OFF!!! Check out tracks "Still Drunk, Still Crazy, Still Blue", "Draggin Down the Line", "Wildside" and my fav "Judgement Day".
JC Brooks and the Uptown Sound - Beat of Out Own Drum - I got to thank Erica Gerdes for this one (because for some reason she values my opinion). This band mixes late 60s era Stax records with early 80s prog rock to form something that is easily danceable, but artistically relevant. I can easily imagine this band playing on bandstand in 68 or rock the underground scene in 83. If you find you have the ability to see this band, check them out. Then call me, but I will be totally jealous. BTW, the clip below is take from a great show from Chicago called Chi-a-Go-Go.
